VLC is great at playing 4K video, however I am still playing with settings to enable smoother skipping in the file without stutter or pauses (yes, I have already increased the cache to 1000mS which helped but did not solve the issue.Nowadays, smartphones have become an essential source of entertainment, with the help of which people can entertain themselves, and along with that, they can stay connected with the world virtually.īut the main point is that there are several applications that we would have to install in our smartphones and they can get rid of our boredom along with taking help from any external application.Ī couple of years ago offline media, including movies and music was the only source of entertainment and in this era of OTT platforms, some people still prefer playing media on the smartphones that they have downloaded from torrent or any other platform and for this, it requires some special applications that can run all file forms. I'll take notes for next time )Įdit: I have to add that the poor quality issue seems to only apply to low quality files to begin with. Search google on how to improve vlc video quality and you will find tons of pages discussing it. I've noticed that each time I move to a new PC and have to set VLC back up, I am fighting your same battle trying to figure out what settings (codec, etc) I had on my other systems that made them play the same videos with better quality. I am sure VLC is capable of the same quality, and likely better, but you need to know how to configure it. My take is that Windows Media Player has a predefined configuration that is likely less flexible but results in users perceiving it as having better video quality. There are tons of settings that can be adjusted in VLC to improve quality, but the issue is that most of them are too specific for me so I don't know what is best.
